Secondary and Tertiary Packaging

Definitions:
Secondary-< Primary packaging is the container that holds the products, while secondary packaging consists of outer wrapping that assist in displaying, storing, shipping and protecting products. Additionally, tertiary packaging is the combining of products for storage and hauling.

Tertiary- Tertiary packaging is the packaging that is used to protect not only the product but also its secondary and primary packaging. For example, when you order some item from an online shopping site, the sealed cardboard box that you open is the tertiary packaging.

Food Industry

Albert paper utilizes specially built machines to covert roll stock into various types of paperboard packaging for the food, candy, and baking industries. Trays, cards,U-Boards and narrow width slit rolls are produced using poly coated, plain SBS, kraftpak, clay coated plain chip and chocolate board. We specialize in fast turn around and maintain a very large inventory of various board grades. We can also print up to 6 colors either on rolls or sheets.

Some more info for website for Food part:

Albert Paper Products and Mondo International, LLC are a leading manufacturer of U-Boards, Base Cards, inserts, and trays for the candy and snack food industries. We have 6 high speed die cutting lines that convert various grades of coated and uncoated board from roll stock into these low profile yet very important pieces of protective packaging. The cards sit underneath chocolate bars, biscuits, snack cakes, mini donuts, cookies and other sweets.

We also slit down master rolls of coated roll stock to narrow widths to fit onto your machinery so this process can be done inline. These rolls are unwound on flow wrap machines and cut off to size. Our machines have the capabilities to produce these rolls 24 hours per day. Albert Paper works directly with the top mills for all our board and does all of the converting and finishing at our New Jersey facility.
Albert Paper prides itself on state-of-the-art machinery, immediate deliveries, make and hold programs, competitive pricing and a team of customer service to cater to your needs.

Testing

Albert paper Products offers its customers the availability to perform various tests on the package once it has been developed by our creative and engineering team.

We offer such services as drop testing, vibration testing and compression testing to ensure your package can withstand the rigor of travel. We will share the results of the test in a detailed report to the customer as well as any suggestions to better protect the product.

ISTA Testing

Drop Testing- Any importers concerned about product or packaging quality should consider including a carton drop test, or package drop test, in their pre-shipment inspection plan. Through a series of drops, a carton drop test simulates the shipping environment during which packaged goods may be subject to damage.

Vibration Testing- Mimics the conditions that a product or structure might see during its lifetime while under a test environment. Used to ensure that products are robust and perform safely during operation or transit, vibration testing detects performance issues and potential failures before they start.
